A tried-and-tested measurement principle for a wide range of applications

In a float-type flow meter, a freely suspended float moves upwards within a conical measuring tube in proportion to the volume flow. Its position directly indicates the current flow rate.

The measuring principle is precise, robust and versatile. Depending on the model, float-type flowmeters are suitable for a range of liquids and gases, as well as for various pressure, temperature and process conditions.

Tried-and-tested technology meets modern automation

Modern all-metal flowmeters such as the ROTAMETER® RAMC and RAKD combine the tried-and-tested measuring principle with the requirements of today’s industrial plants.

Depending on the model, they are available with limit switches and with 4–20 mA or HART outputs. This enables them to be reliably integrated into existing automation and control systems, combining mechanical measurement technology with modern signal transmission.

For applications where a simple, direct and cost-effective display is required, the classic glass rotameter offers a compelling solution. The flow rate is immediately visible, operation is straightforward and the technical complexity is minimal.
