The ROTAMETER® - variable area flowmeter - is the oldest, most sophisticated and most cost-effective measuring principle for over 100 years. It is used for volumetric flow measurement of liquids, gases and steam.
Since their market launch in 1908, variable area flowmeters have become indispensable for industrial measurements in various industries, such as chemicals and pharmaceuticals, the food and beverage industry, laboratory applications, water treatment plants, building automation, monitoring of heating and cooling circuits...
All-metal ROTAMETER® consist of float, measuring cone, process connections and flow scale. Installation in a vertical pipeline is by means of screwed connections or flanges. For aggressive processes, all wetted parts are made of PTFE or Hastelloy.
The mechanical local display does not require any auxiliary power - which makes it energy-efficient.
Variable area flowmeters are defined according to the VDI/VDE guidelines and have a measuring range ratio of 1:10.
In the all-metal flowmeter, the float position is transmitted to a mechanical or electrical display via a magnetic system. The position of the rotating float is transmitted to an external transmitter. The transmitter contained in the transducer generates an output signal (4-20mA) which is used for flow control, display or registration.
Remote transmissions are made via bus protocols such as HART and Profibus. Limit value detection is via inductive proximity switches and complies with the most common standards such as SIL and NAMUR.
